Welcome to the Ramapo PBA Website
The Ramapo PBA was founded in 1973 as an organization with the original purpose of representing the interests of Ramapo police officers and their families as well as serving as the bargaining unit for negotiating contracts for its members with the Town of Ramapo.
Since then, the Ramapo PBA has evolved into much more. The union now has diverse interests which transcend into the community which is comprised of the residents and business owners within the Town of Ramapo
The Ramapo PBA annually hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for the elderly and fundraisers throughout the year. For many years, the PBA held a very popular and highly attended Oldies Show bringing in acts from across the country. There would routinely be two sold out shows for this venue at SuffernHigh School featuring the Del Vikings, The Platters, and the like. But as years went by, public interest declined, and the PBA sought other fundraising opportunities. We continue to hold an annual Golf Outing and a yearly raffle function.
Proceeds are used to fund the operation of the PBA, but are also donated back into the community.Over the past years, the PBA has donated money to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys-for-Tots, COPSBarn, local sports programs, and other organizations and people in need throughout our community. We also award scholarships to students in Suffern, Ramapo, and Spring ValleyHigh Schools. The 2008 annual Golf Outing raised $15,000 which was fully donated toward Pediatric Cancer Rhabdomyosarcoma research at MemorialSloan-KetteringCancerCenter.
